The Atalaya is our next-generation, do-it-all, go-anywhere machine, with great versatility that doesn't clash with any use you make of it: with mudguards and a small rack, or stripped down to a pure gravel bike.

The short, but challenging, cycling route that is the Alcudia to La Victoria ride, begins in the town. Follow the outlying walls and veer off towards Malpas and la Victoria. The road is fairly well signposted.

You will pass Bonaire marina then head up the coast all the way past the hermitage and up to the Atalaya (the Spanish word for watchtower or vantage point) at the top. Although not an arduous climb – the route is about 12km and ascends up to 444m above sea level steep - the terrain follows the coastline, hugging the road edge nearly all the way, so the views over the Bay of Pollença are simply stunning. If you fancy a really difficult ride-off road there’s a hiking route that starts in the coastal area of s’Illot. You’ll travel up through the trees to find the Camí d'es Fontanelles, and then on until you get to the rugged wide ridge running up to the Atalaya. This is a superb way to access the top, with clear unobstructed scenery everywhere you look. The circuit continues by dropping down to the old hermitage, recently converted into an interesting hotel. From there you go through a pine tree-clad valley that eventually comes to Bonaire.
